We offer compassionate, trauma-informed counselling for survivors of intimate partner violence — at your pace, in a space where your safety and experience come first, without judgment.
"Your experience is real. Your safety matters. You deserve support."
Ancrage CounsellingPartner violence takes many forms — physical, emotional, psychological, financial, and sexual. All of it is real. All of it matters. Our role is not to tell you what to do, but to create the conditions for you to process, heal, and make decisions that are right for your life.
Every step is led by you. We follow — never push. Healing from partner violence is not linear, and we honour that entirely.
A free, confidential 15-minute call — by phone or video. No forms, no intake, no commitment. Just a chance to meet and ask your questions.
Your first sessions are yours to shape. We listen fully — to your experience, your fears, your needs. Nothing is required. You lead entirely.
Using survivor-centred, trauma-informed approaches, we help you process your experience, rebuild safety, and make decisions on your own terms.
Over time, clarity returns. Your sense of self strengthens. Your world becomes bigger again — built on what you choose, not what was done to you.
"Healing is not a straight line. Some sessions feel like progress. Others feel heavy. All of it is part of the process — and we are with you through every part."
We do not tell you what to do or when to do it. Our approach is survivor-centred, trauma-informed, and adapted to where you are — not a scripted programme applied to everyone.
Everything we do is shaped by an understanding of how trauma works in the body and mind. Your nervous system sets the pace — not our agenda or timeline.
You are the expert on your own life. We do not make decisions for you — we help you reclaim the clarity and agency that abuse works to undermine.
Where appropriate, we work with you to identify risks and build practical safety — whether you are still in the relationship, leaving, or already out.
Beyond surviving, we help you reclaim your sense of self — your identity, your relationships, and your vision of what your life can look like going forward.
You don't have to be ready to leave to deserve support. Wherever you are — you are welcome here.
"Wherever you are starting from — we will meet you there."
Ancrage CounsellingPeople arrive at this service from very different places — some mid-situation, some long after. Whatever your circumstances, you will be met with care and without judgment.
You may be wondering...You do not need a label to access support. If something in your relationship left you feeling afraid, diminished, controlled, or confused about your own reality — that is enough to reach out. We will not minimise your experience or require you to name it in a particular way.
Yes — absolutely. You do not need to have left — or to have any plan to leave — to access support. Many people begin counselling while still in the relationship. Our role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in whatever you decide.
This is a very common concern. Our approach is paced entirely by you — we never push you to revisit more than you are ready to. You are always in control of what gets discussed and how far we go in any given session.
Yes — protected under PHIPA. We will explain clearly at the start of our work together what the very limited circumstances are in which confidentiality may need to be broken (e.g. imminent risk to a child), so you always know exactly where you stand.
It is never too late. The effects of partner violence do not resolve on their own timetable, and people often find that the full impact only becomes clear months or years later. Wherever you are in your journey, support is available.
There is no wrong time to reach out. Sessions are available virtually across all of Ontario and in-person in Toronto. Your first step is always a free, confidential 15-minute call — no paperwork, no commitment, no pressure.
No forms, no commitment, no pressure. A 15-minute conversation to meet each other and answer your questions. That is all the first step requires.
